You have to love Mexico
Warm sandy beaches, friendly people, good food and so close. I have forgotten the amount of times I have been there. From Mazatlan to Acapulco on the Pacific coast to Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel on the Caribbean side. I did get food poisoning in Acapulco once and was resigned to die on the bathroom floor at the Acapulco Ritz. Never eat at “Pasta, Pasta, Pasta”, it could be your last . But other than that one time all has been great. Hey, So you take your chances no mater where you go. As you know, things have changed in Mexico. Many years ago I rented a Jeep from Cancun and drove to Merida then down to Chichen Itza and then all the way down to Coba and back up to Tulum. That was a then, I wouldn’t do that today. Mexico is still a great getaway and I recommend Cozumel. The water is crystal clear and there are still a few untouched beaches.
